I spent the past three days based out of our Las Vegas office, working with some of my colleagues from all over the world. China, Dubai, Germany, Mexico, France, etc. The meeting days were long and conducted in a darkened conference room that at times seemed far more suitable for napping than planning world domination.

For this trip Avis upgraded me to a Mustang convertible. Not the most practicle vehicle for ferrying people around, but it does have a certain cachet. Anne-Marie had never ridden in a ‘cabriolet’ before, so after meetings concluded one day we put the top down and drove out to Red Rock Canyon. So nice, but so hot that day. Even at 6pm it was still 100 degrees.

The next morning my colleague and I attempted to drag race a Ferrari on the 215. Technically I won, mostly due to the better traffic in my lane but that’s just a technicality. Later that night I took some Vegas virgins on a top-down cruise along the strip. Even on a Wednesday night, everything was jammed. Don’t people have anywhere better to go?

“when you’re work is done”

A special treat. A friend brought me a couple of New Belgium’s Shifts. Definitely my new favorite from NB. Very tasty, drinkable and all that good stuff. Made me just a little bit extra happy and a nice treat after I sweated it out in the hotel gym for a very boring hour, wish we had some distribution here in VT.
