Day #2 of a cold, driving rain. Utter misery outside. With Singlespeed-apalooza 4 weeks away and PMBAR the week after that, I can’t afford to laze about waiting for suitable riding conditions. Especially since PMBAR is a team event. Can’t let down the team!
So, trainer or bust. I popped over to Redbox and picked up the latest film adaption of the Twilight books, New Moon, for some entertainment.
Now, I’ll own up to reading the books. The first one was engaging (as long as you don’t stop to think too much about the underlying themes.) The third was a quick read but somewhat forgettable, and in the fourth our heroine finally steps up and makes something of herself. However, the second book was the pits. Absolutely useless drivel.
The movie? Much the same. I made it about 1:15 on the trainer, sometime after she learns that Jacob undergoes massive fur-splosions and turns into a wolf. When my penance was up, off it went. No compelling reason to watch the entire thing. There is no chemistry between the Bella and Jacob characters, either in the book or on the screen, and beefcake Team Jacob abs are not really my thing.
So there you have it, at least I didn’t completely and utterly waste an entire evening on it.
