After a whole lot of advertising the Tuesday Night Ladies Ride, I ended up bowing out last night and sent George out to lead the ride. I’m in the midst of another rash attack on my hands. It’s basically like hives or eczema covering my fingers and hands, swelling, pain and itching. Totally awesome. Totally throws a wrench in my life and this outbreak is bad.
Heat makes it worse. Sweating makes it worse. So now I’m spending what will probably be the nicest days of the year hiding inside, not riding bikes, not working on my overgrown garden. Trying not to let it bother me – but it’s really difficult. And uncomfortable.
Racing tonight is out of the picture, I’m hoping this is the last bad day and that by tomorrow I’m on the other side. The ‘other side’ is indicated when all the skin falls of my fingers at the rash site. It looks gruesome, but in reality means things are better. Can’t wait to be there.
