i wasn’t expecting to get outside on an actual bike today. saturday is normally a class at the gym and an hour spin afterwards. but i didn’t make the class this morning for a really lame reason. that reason was that overnight it went from 40 degrees and raining, to 10 degrees and totally freezing. i thought that perhaps it has totally inappropriate to drive anywhere this morning. eh, it was nice to sleep in a little and have a chance to walk the dog.
K got invited to a friends house, and by the afternoon the sun was nice and warm. Ambient air temperature was somewhere around 18 degrees, but really the sun was warm. I tried to get George to come out for a ride with me, but he balked at the temp so i headed out alone on the jabberwocky.
even though it was so cold, anything in the sun had warmed up into peanut butter consistency of mud. it was fast, it was slow. sometimes damn near impossible. loved the Continental Mountain Kings on the muddy roads, they did awesome again.

Gregg Hill Mud
I headed out on a different ride than I usually do. Another one of the Waterbury 5 hills and part of the Gravel Grinder again this year. I did it as an out and back because this wasn’t meant to be a long ride and besides my toes were freezing. Out has more hills than back. But it went fairly smooth.

post ride jabberwocky
Lots of mud out there. My bike is gross. Really needs a bath. After tomorrow. Tomorrow I’m going to go do it all again, only longer. More mud. More climbing.
