Well, all that tranquility and contentment — that was fun for a day. Now I can return to being cynical and wanting what I do not have.

While most of the world will be off of work this week, I have squandered all of my vacation time and will be spending next week in the office pushing pixels and putting words in other people’s mouths. I had a dream last night that I showed up to a tradeshow, but had neglected to send the booth and in fact had no idea where our booth was supposed to be. Perhaps a warning that I need to go and double check the arrangements I’ve made for the show in the UK later this month.

Put on a chick movie I hadn’t seen yet and rode the new Kinetic Rock and Roll trainer today for 1:45. At that moment the unreliable dvd player crapped out for the second time, sending the movie backwards about 6 scenes. I couldn’t be bothered to wrestle with it again and decided to call the ride as good enough. I like the Kinetic, it’s a lively sort of ride with real feedback. It makes things a bit less mindnumbing. This was the 2nd ride, and I’ve tamed it enough that I can now sit up and spin without sending the front wheel hurtling in the opposite direction.
