Traveling back to VT required a 3:45 am wakeup, some airport food and a couple of uneventful flights. Arrived to BTV and things went south quickly. Not only was it 50 degrees and raining, my car was completely dead. Not even enough juice to pop the electric locks. Bummer. George was gallant enough to come out and rescue us with a jump, and then follow me back to Waterbury to ensure that the subaru just didn’t up and refuse to go forward. Off to the garage it went. Seems the battery was only good for 9 years, it was the factory original.
Tired and grumpy from the car problems, I was looking forward to a nice gloomy ride in the rain that afternoon. But key items of my riding gear were in the truck of the car, at the garage. Bummer. Instead I took the dog for a long, gloomy walk/trail run through Waterbury and the lower Perry Hill trails. That was alright by him.
