In the end all you’ve got is a bunch of rusty pin flags and scrappy looking tape. Un-marking the course is a lot like taking down the Christmas tree. Nothing to look forward to and somewhat fiddly trying to get everything out of the tree and packed away. But it’s done. Amazing that we sent so many riders over that course and I didn’t see a speck of trash during clean up.
Up next, the Darkhorse 40 in New York state. My goal is to finish. Monday’s long ride highlighted that I’m still dealing with back pain and I might need to pull back on effort to survive bumping through all 40 miles of rocky Stewart singletrack. I really don’t want to pull out after 7 miles again, I’d rather come in last than have to quit again.

Hey, you make coming in last might be a bad thing! Sometimes you win stuff for that.
