If we’re friends on Facebook you might have seen this one already. Such a beautiful sunset bears repeating:
Feeling a bit revived after a weekend of taking it easy and looking at outside temps of 62 degrees, I opted for a nice long lunch ride. The only issue was that rifle season started this weekend so heading deep into the woods wasn’t a smart choice. I also didn’t want to further aggrevate my groin issue so I compromised. Climbed on the roads from the office up to Maple Run, rode Maple Run to Sterling Gorge and then back down again via road. This gave me some lung-burning climbing, a little bit of almost singletrack and a nicely paced ride.
There were a lot of hunters out there. Didn’t hear any shots, but saw plenty of pickups parked in random places. Rifle season is only a couple of weeks, I don’t begrudge them this time and stay out of their way as best as I can.
While going through my bag looking for all the receipts from my last trip I happened upon a scrunched up envelope at the very bottom. Turns out it was cash still leftover from my DH40 win, over three months ago. A happy surprise to find some fun cash, but made me a little sad as I remembered how fit I was during the height of the season and before I jacked myself up with that crash.
Time to start thinking about where I want to go and what I want to do in 2012. Any suggestions for something new?

How about a solo attempt at the 24 hours of great glen? There would need to be plenty to do in the mean time because it’s not til August. That one comes to mind quickly.
