reports of snow over the weekend turned out to be greatly exaggerated, while Stowe had more snow than Waterbury – calling it meager would be generous. High temps in the low 40′s, sun in the sky, and a deliciously empty afternoon calendar sent me out chasing some of that elusive sun. I climbed up the [...]
A Pennsylvania Thanksgiving
Just returned from thanksgiving at the family compound(s) in PA. My brother and sister-in-law flew in from PDX with their newish babe, so it was a real throw down year. It was fantastic to see everyone and meet little Chloe. We spread out the love with back-to-back thanksgiving days and a nice endcap to the [...]
a chicken with something to prove
check out this egg that i found in the coop tonight: that’s gotta hurt coming out. The others are the normal, everyday sort of eggs. It’s trainer time here already, and I’m proud to admit that I rode for 1:15 tonight, and that was after beer and pizza at Piecasso.
report from beyond yogadome
After several years of not finding a suitable yoga class, seems that i’ve settled on one that will meet my requirements. My requirements for a yoga class: Monday night. I like yoga on Mondays, not so much other days of the week. That’s just how it is. Within a reasonable distance Starting at 6pm, not [...]
getting in the groove
At the end of last week I finally figured out how i was going to make good on my self-promise to do some cross racing this year. Due to my lack of fitness and travel through most of the fall, I hadn’t done anything since my cross debut at Green Mountain. But finally up on [...]
getting stuff done
Finally got the tools to put my name on the SSUSA belt, just about in time to give it up for 2011 (unless I win it again of course.) I still can’t believe that I won, and can’t believe that I get my name on here with these badass women. Totally awesome. Not sure yet [...]
last of the sunshine for 2010
I did a contemplative 30 miles today. Easy, no real climbing. Was nice to get outside and think about stuff, enjoying what is undoubtably the last of the fall weather. This was probably the longest I’ve sat on a bike seat since september sometime. Wasn’t sure how it would go, rode the SS the past [...]
2.4
Much better today with tires with some real knob The bridge on Tonys. It’s sketchy and has a funky downward slope. If it’s wet, which it generally is, you need rock climbing moves to get over the thing without sliding into the creek.
softie
good news. this morning when I got to work I found a whole lot of information to get me excited about the conference I’m attending in San Francisco next month. And it’s sunny today, and not that cold. So I can now stop moping and start to look forward to that trip. Moving right along. Look [...]
crashing
I crashed while running today. Trail running. Caught a toe on something and went down hard. Took a chunk of skin off my knee, scraped my hands, bruised my thigh. I think I also hit my head and knocked some earwax loose. After work I had a meeting with a bunch of other women about [...]
